Stop feeding the rumor

Stop Feeding the Rumor

 Proverbs 26:20
“Where there is no wood, the fire goes out; and where there is no talebearer, strife ceases.”

Every fire needs fuel. Gossip works the same way. A story cannot keep traveling if somebody decides not to carry it any farther.

You may not have started the rumor, but you get to decide whether it continues through you. Everything you hear does not need to be repeated. Everything that is true does not need to be shared. Some information belongs in prayer, not conversation.

Maturity knows how to become the place where gossip dies.

Here’s the challenge: When somebody brings you information about another person, do you become a firefighter or another log on the fire?

Action Step: Refuse to repeat one piece of unnecessary information today. If it concerns you deeply, pray about it instead.

Have a trustworthy and Victorious Tuesday
