Don't Let the Gift Become the God
1 Samuel 1:27, 28
"For this child I prayed, Therefore I also have lent him to the Lord"
Hannah prayed desperately for Samuel. Yet when God answered, she refused to allow the blessing to replace the Blesser.
Answered prayers can become idols if we begin loving the gift more than the God who gave it. Careers. Relationships. Children. Ministries. Possessions. Success. Anything good can become spiritually unhealthy when it occupies God's place.
Hold your blessings with gratitude, not ownership. Everything God gives remains safest when it stays surrendered to Him.
Here's the challenge: Is there something you once prayed for that now receives more of your heart than God does?
Action Step: Thank God for one major blessing today and consciously surrender it back to His care.
