Don't Answer Every Knock

Proverbs 26:4
"Do not answer a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like him."

Not every comment requires a response. Not every accusation deserves an explanation. Not every argument deserves your energy.

Sometimes maturity is demonstrated by what you refuse to engage.

There will always be people who misunderstand you, criticize you, or invite you into conversations that produce more heat than light.

You can spend your entire day defending yourself and have nothing left for your assignment. Wisdom knows that some battles are distractions dressed as emergencies.

You don't have to prove yourself to everybody. Your peace is valuable. Your time is valuable. Your focus is valuable. Sometimes the strongest answer you can give is no answer at all.

Here's the challenge: Who or what has been getting too much of your emotional energy simply because you feel compelled to respond?

Action Step: Choose one unnecessary argument today and refuse to participate. Use the energy you would have spent defending yourself to do something productive.
